Necessary

These vids are necessary. A lot of you have seen Benedikt Magnusson pull 1015 in just a built, but we my as well make it official on the site:

Some of you have been asking about conditioning. Here’s a friend of mine getting a righteous fucking AMNAP in. Be sure to progress your structures into it.

Oh, and then Bennie pulled 575 for as many reps as possible. Why? CAUSE HE FUCKING CAN

And Jesus Harold Christ, look at these assholes with a 150 lbs dumbbell (Note: second cameraman is a huge Starrett fan, so his comments are in admiration, because Kelly is the fucking man):

70’s Big Workshop Interest
If you are interested in hosting a 70’s Big Programming Workshop, then shoot me an e-mail or post it in the comments. I’ll send you the information about the lectures and lift around.

  1. I can’t believe I just watched that guy take a nap. Totally owned. I honestly thought something would happen eventually.

You weren’t mislead. It’s AMNAP, the most intense workout you can do.

  2. Holy S.

Unless I’m doing something horribly wrong, Magnusson’s record smashing lift received no news coverage, per a Google News search. WTF? And we wonder why so few lift.

  3. Your friend doing the AMNAP is rolled too far onto his side with his arm raised above his head for the majority of his reps. Unfortunately this is less functional and does not constitute full range of movement, these reps would not be counted at a Crossfit competition. Instead of using a pillow, he needs to refine his technique using some pvc pipe, or perhaps in a hammock strung between two rings. That’s how they teach it at the Crossfit sleep certification.

  4. AMNAP PR (for a weekday): Off work with a sick kid Wednesday, caught a SOLID 90 minutes! I have pulled more on a weekend but I didn’t taper or cut weight at all to prepare so I’m pretty proud of it.
