I’m busy working on a project that will benefit at least 75% of you. In the mean time, enjoy some reader submitted material.

Here is a video that I was supposed to post a long time ago but I keep forgetting from Peter. He and his mates are from Sydney, Australia, and he’s been really campaigning for a 70’s Big Short Film Festival. Stay tuned for details.

Jeremey sent some pictures of his friend’s garage gym they’ve been putting together. First is a picture of one of them (I don’t know who) squatting in the homemade squat rack, and then the new plates they just got.

Looks like a heavy lockout

Sexy plates

Charles sent me this video of his 405x5x5 milestone. Nice work.

Question of the Day
What’s your favorite kind of barbecue sauce?

  1. I wish I could of aded in my Hulkamania deadlift. That’s where I start to Hulk up before the last set and after the lift give the bar a leg drop and cover it up for the 3 count.

As for BBQ sauce can’t beat Sweet Baby Rays. I could eat my own head if it was covered with that stuff.

  2. Ummm, no comment on the first vid or first pic (besides that “No comment” comment).

405x5x5 is sweet, definitely looks relatively simple. Your form is very good.

  3. as far a commercial bbq sauce? Bullseye original, but everyone knows you gotta add your own ingredients to store-bought sauce…

sweet use of “bat out of hell” by meatloaf in the first vid, what an epic love ballad…

    5x5x405 is sweet

  4. I enjoyed both videos.

However, the best video of all is the Flexi-bar video clip that shows up after the 405x5x5 video. Damn they must have some sculpted obliques.

  5. Does that project have anything to do with what I asked about yesterday? If not, did you take a look at what I asked about yesterday and is that a possibility?

BBG Sauce – Sweet Baby Rays is always in stock at my house. On occasion I go with Stubbs – Both favorites.

Badass home set-up. Love the strongman log. Any plans you guys used would be sweet. I need to eventually make a rack for home use. I’ve been tinking of having one welded, but maybe something like that would work out.

  6. Everything in this post is amazing!
Deadlifts, bending bars in a rack made out of wood, 50KG PLATES! and a super solid squat, damn that’s something to aspire to!

btw, see you talking about your favorite BBQ sauce makes me (kinda) hate being from europe!

  7. I’m with keysburg – the habanero sauce AT the salt lick (must be fresh) is top notch. I normally don’t like sauce on my ‘que, but that one’s an exception – and it’s excellent on their potato salad, too. The old crockpot full of sauce at Black’s in Lockhart was legit, too. The new bottled stuff is close, but not quite the same since they got all fancy.

But other than that, I prefer to make my own, and I usually do it very vinegar-y.

  8. Hello everyone, I am Jeremy the one in the crazy photo aha. To clear things up I didt squat this lol. I just put it on my back. It is 1139 pounds aha. There are no plans we just build it. One day I was bored and cut down a tree and made the log press there. That retarded unrack or what ever you would call that was just done for the photo, to test the rack and to make the 405 pounds that I was squating soon after feel like nothing lol. Here is a link to some more photos of my gym if you guys are interested in looking.http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=497606&id=771860250&l=c405cf683c

  9. Crockin’ up a pulled pork shoulder for tonight, for dipping I use just about any sauce (Open Pit is what I have now) with a good bit of chipotle-tabasco sauce added. For coleslaw I use a generic KFC slaw recipe with broccoli slaw instead of cabbage.
