Howdy everyone. PR Friday — post your weights lifted, gained, or consumed to the comments. There are lots of ideas we have for the website and writing posts, but you’re always welcome to submit ideas as well. Have a jolly weekend.
Here is some snatch footage of the super heavyweight lifters (110+ kg) from the 1989 World Weightlifting Championships to keep you occupied:

I’m training tomorrow, so I hope to hit:

Oh, and I’ve taken to lifting in short shorts and old school tube socks.
BW holding steady at 220
Deadlift 315×5 switch grip.
My elbows are feeling pretty great after squatting for the last few workouts so I’m adding some pull-ups back in. We’ll see if they get irritated again.

Last weekend I attended my first strongman games. My favorite event was the stone load, I loaded a 111 lb stone over the 48″ high wall 11 times in 3 minutes. I now hold all the women’s state records, because I am the first woman to compete at such an event.
I don’t know if there’s a special weekend post coming later in the day for this so….
TSC

@dave h
The Meatza looks amazing.
I checked out the guy’s site and it’s somewhat interesting. Here he gives his little 5-point manifesto: http://freetheanimal.com/ancestral-life-way
1, 3, and 5 seem perfectly reasonable, but get a load of 2 and 4:
2. Allow yourself to go hungry every day, at least a little (first meal of the day is a good time — don’t eat until you’re truly hungry). Every once in a while, go hungry for a whole day.
4. Run very fast sometimes, play hard when you can, and push and lift heavy things around when you have the urge. Do it briefly and intensely; not too often and not too long. Once to twice per week for 20-30 minutes each is plenty. But always push yourself for that brief time. Always try to workout hungry, just like animals.
I think someone’s getting a little ahead of himself with the “be an animal” thing.
Of course, this guy is primarily interested in simply getting lean, but still…
life pr: discovered that i’m wheat intolerant. two painful weeks of sporadically feeling tired, nauseous and ill went away as soon as i cut out wheat and gluten.
feel 100% after eating nothing but cheese, meat, dairy and the occasional rice or oatmeal.
bench pr: 265×5
kroc rows: 100lb db x 30 each arm
just to tag along the themesong/move ideas.. i’m a professional musician and would be down to play/compose some stuff if necessary.. i’d probably do it for cheap or free.. but i’m poor so who knows.
ill keep the credentials short but i was featured in guitar player magazine august 08.. ill leave it at that.
Luc – Looks interesting. I mean, if I were going to cut a weight class, I think I would definitely try that approach. Otherwise, eat a bit more than he recommends.
im just going to leave this here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ctVmNbVu2KA&feature=player_embedded
Pulled 300x1x5, and just burst a button off my shorts.

Strained a neck muscle on the first squat double, getting a massage from ThunderThighs as I type.

pull ups: bodyweightx2x5
deadlift: 225×1
snatch: 15 reps in 15 minutes @ 85lbs
peace.
Deadlift PR @ 355, In August my deadlift was around 290 so pretty encouraging. Failed at 375, really wanted the 2.5xBW deadlift. Will have it in the next couple of months for sure, then 400 after that.
First post here, but I’ve been enjoying this site for a while, it’s great for motivation, and a few laughs too.
44 y/o, 5’10.5″, 195lbs.
deadlift: 315x3x2
squat: 280x5x3
bench: 200x5x3
press: 137.5x4x3
chins (bw): 9 (could barely do 1 when I started in the fall)
Switching to TM for squats now since I’m going slow with the bw gain and I’m making at most 5lbs/week gain in squats with 3×5’s. Also trying reduced deadlift frequency, every other week, since low back seems to recover very slowly.
Deadlift PR 580#
attempted 600# and missed it at the knees

PR: 4 chinese women impregnated by the sight of an adult male sporting a mustache, aviators, and 70’s esque bathing suit while blazing passed them on his motorcycle. Back to the gym this week after a brief vacation.
Since Isaac Hayes is dead, I can’t think of anyone who could do a proper vocal for the theme music.
Due to injury, no weight lifted PR’s this past week. My only PR is foodwise:
Dinner PR – ~16oz grilled sirloin, 2 burgers (grilled by me), green beans, 2 pints milk, 1 beer consumed
5’11” 170lb 24y.o.
PRs for the week:
Deadlift: 225 (could have repped easily, but I didn’t have chalk and my sweaty palms failed me)
BP: 160×5
Outgrew some clothes.
