PR Friday

All right ladies and gents, post your weekly PR’s. I had a shitty-ass training week, and the only thing I really accomplished was squatting 455x5x3 on Tuesday. I’ll have to do my Friday workout on the road because we are going to Huntington Beach, CA for a seminar.

In other news, AC is competing in a USAPL meet tomorrow. I don’t believe in luck, but if you want to wish it to him, you can do so in the comments. He will compete in the 220 class and will probably post his openers and body weight here in a bit. AC claims to be making a video documentary of the meet, so we’ll see what happens. And AC; make me proud you little bastard.

Chris will compete in a meet soon as well. Here is a video of Chris from early September pulling 600 and 625 (with a bit o’ hitching).

  1. Squat: 225x5x3 Finally 2 plates! Up 15 lbs from last week.

    Bench:205x3x2.Up 5 lbs. Was hoping to get 5 reps for 1 set, oh well.

    Chins: 6,5,5. These and pullups seem to be my weakness. Can”t get past 6.

  2. Big week this week. My body weight has stayed the same (bad eating week), but my DL and Squat both went up.

    Body weight: 150lbs
    Deadlift: 335 x 5
    Squat: 275 x5x3

  3. First O Lifting Comp today.

    Weighed in at 82.7 kg, up from 80.3 six weeks ago, which puts me in the -85kg class.

    Snatch 85, C&J 106 for a 191 total.

    Next thing to do is fill out to the top of my weight class and see if I can total 200 like I did last week in the gym.

  4. Friday is 20-rep squat day for me.

    I did 230lbs this week, up 5lbs from last week.

    Bodyweight : 190
    Squat : 265lbs, 5×5
    Press : 145lbs, 5×5
    DL : 295, 1×5 (grip sucks)
    Bench: 215lbs, 3×5

  5. BW was 197 this week, only a 2lb increase from last week. I need to up my food for this next week. Still increasing on all lifts every workout. Bench and press are PR”s every workout.
    Squat 260x5x3
    Press 165x5x3
    Bench 235x5x3
    Deadlift 270x5x1
    Started increasing deadlift by 15lbs instead of 10lbs.
    At what point are you guys adding weight to your pullups/chins? My last round was 14,10,9…not sure if I should add weight and do 5×3. Any ideas?

    Total: 1,465

    O I weighed in at 204. At the school”s scale back in Statesboro I was heavier.

  7. At the WPC World Championships on Tuesday,

    Squat 275 kg 606 lbs
    Bench press 137.5 kg 303 lbs PR
    Deadlift 227.5 kg 501 lbs PR

    This was in the 82.5 kg 181 lbs weight class.

    AC”s total is very strong. He totalled quite a bit more than me and I was wearing a squat suit, wraps and bench press shirt. Awesome.

    AC, in case you are interested according to the RAW PL class standards, on rawpowerlifting.com, that puts you 11 pounds shy of the Master class for 220 and 6 lbs shy of Elite class for the 198 class…absolutely sick especially for someone only 20 years old!!

    bodyweight is going to stay 190-200 since a couple doctors are worried that I gained 20 pounds in a little over a month.
