I’ll write something up for Friday’s post, so here’s some random tidbits for your Thursday pleasure.
Derek Poundstone breaks a bat.
Jim Steel is contributing to StrengthVillain.com, and here is a little program program you can get started on if you are lacking athletic ability.
A few months ago 20 year old Pat Mendes does a No-No-No squat of 363kg/800lbs. He opted to walk it back in the rack too…so nobody can complain about it.
Here’s a badass article by “MOA”, another Strength Villain contributor.
Mendes is such a beast. I wonder how long he has been training hard. I guess maybe 4 years max? Absolutely incredible. I can only imagine the type of dedication it’s taken to get to that point.
First video: Impressive
Second video: WOW!
@Justin, I think I am going to buy some NOX Edge because Mike the Situation uses it and he’s ripped?!
FYI:
I’m sold. 2011 goals, 70’s Big out, 2000’s skinny in. LOL
God damn it, Scott. I literally had never seen “The Situation” before and now you ruined it.

i coulda sworn that was brent in the first video.
but yes, these videos are amazing feats of strength. i think poundstone was at a gym in LI this weekend for the Bros vs Pros deadlift challenge.
I dont have a video of him, but of “Trainer Joe” repping 405 for 30

Poundstone won with 36 reps
That squat was ridiculous.
+1 Justin.
I hadn’t seen this ‘Mike the Situation’ wanker before either.
It’s 9:05am in Sydney right now, I just finished destroying a bacon and egg roll for my second breakfast after arriving at work, and now I’m all shitty and aggressive after seeing that.
I’m going to put a colour printout of him on the wall right in front of my power rack. It will put 10kg on my 1rm squat instantly.
I vote that we strip the title of “The Situation” from douchey’s abs, and give it to Brent’s traps.
Justin,
Two things;
Can we have a guide on how to press girls/children overhead?
And
Can we have a guide on how to modify Texas Method, in order to maintains gains and make sure we don’t get overtrained etc etc, and get the most out of the method?
I think both of these would make easy short tidbits articles.
many thanks,
R P McMurphy
The second isn’t short at all, because there’s so much variation you can do with a TM type set up, and it’s dependent on many different variables with the individual. I can give some generic alterations though.

Pat Mendes video is the best thing on Youtube right now. I love the “time to rack it…” I can’t wait to see what that kid does in 2012.
@StillGrowing
More like, “The Situ-Asian”.
